RECENT WORK

HAMPSHIRE OPEN STUDIOS

August 20th - 30th 2021

I'm delighted to announce that I will be taking part in Hampshire Open Studios in Winchester at the end of August. I will be bringing lots of new work to showcase in gorgeous muted colourways. As always, much of my work is inspired by nature. I will be exhibiting alongside surface designer Tori McLean and print artist Margot Eardley. Opening times are 11 am to 6 pm (late night until 8 pm on the 26th). The venue will be closed on the Monday and Tuesday. We really look forward to seeing you there.

BEE HOTELS

Giving nature a helping hand

I was recently commissioned to make some small terracotta discs to decorate bee hotels. I'm thrilled with the finished products, one of which is taking pride of place on the south-facing side of my Oxfordshire studio. The tubes provide a safe, warm place for different species of solitary bees to lay their eggs from spring through to summer.

They will make a wonderful addition to any garden and  it's great to know we are giving nature a helping hand.

The Bee Hotels cost £12 (plus postage and packaging) - and are available from Mark Kelly on otmoorproperty@aol.com

ABOUT ME

Sarah Keogh

After a long career working in the media, I finally found the courage to do what I always wanted to do...live an artist's life. I first experimented with watercolour and oil painting, life drawing and Chinese brush stroke painting before finally discovering what would be my great love...clay. After 3 years of various courses and workshops, I created a studio in my beautiful Oxfordshire garden. The flora and fauna surrounding me and the changing seasons have consistently informed and inspired my work. Some of my favourite patterns and designs have come directly from plants. I am now producing a wide range of homeware including lamps, bowls and vases. I'm now expanding my range to include sculpture.

ALISTAIR, BUCKS

I approached Sarah for a fitting retirement gift for our dedicated and hardworking head teacher. She grabbed the project with both hands, listened attentively to my ideas for the gift and to what the outgoing head meant to the school, and also did her own research. She took my initial ideas and developed them beautifully to create a design that was wonderfully well-received by everyone at the school. Sarah went to the trouble of trying new materials and techniques to achieve the result we were looking for, and kept me informed through the whole process. She was professional and thoughtful throughout and I can't praise her highly enough. Thank you!

SANCIA, HERTS

Sarah has that rare ability to create timeless pieces with a beautiful sense of design. My custom-made bowl is usable and yet distinct, with true everyday appeal. What I love the most is that her work is beautifully simple.
